The weigh in for AdCC 2009 went down earlier today at the Hotel and alll fighters made weight. Hardest cases to make weight were in the U65.9 KG where Rani Yahia, Rubens “Cobrinha” & Joel Tudor had tough time making it. Tudor made it in his first try but he looked his a ghost on the way to the scales. Rani had to come back at least once after over-tipping the scales earlier. Cobrinha also appeared on the verge of passing out but hit the mark and then said something incoherent and smiled, he was later found at the restaurant, looking new as ever and chowing down some pasta. Avelan also had a few tries before making weight but all were smiling a few hours later.
The rules meeting went down without a hitch as well, head referee Peter Ivanov went over the finer points of the rules and fighters asked a few very good questions. Everyone’s mood is great and all are fired up for a great competition.
The release of the brackets left fighters and handicappers talking about the possibilities, the reality of it all is that one has to win 4 tough matches to take the title. There will not be any easy matches
