DREAM held a press conference in Tokyo on February 26th and announced
three first round matches for the upcoming DREAM lightweight GP
starting on March 15th at Saitama Super Arena.Kultar Gill vs. Tatsuya
Kawajiri, Kazuyuki Miyata vs. Luiz "Buscape" Firmino and Joachin
Hansen vs. Kotetsu Boku.
Kawajiri seemed excited about this match-up, "Look at these fighters,
anyone can win this tournament. This ring is an adequate place to
decide the best in the world. I am going to be 30 in May so I want to
conquer this tournament and give myself a belt as my birthday
present." In regards to Gill, Kawajiri knew what he would face, "He
is the most dangerous opponent. His one shot is heavy. He has got
that long reach so landing strikes and even clinching with him is
going to be difficult. He may look like some kind of character but he
has got real strength."
Boku was already pumped up, "To me this fight against Hansen is like
my ‘evaluation match’. When I beat him no one can object to me being
in this tournament. I am glad I don’t have to fight a comical one."
And with a smile Boku talked about how the fight is going to be, "I
think this fight is going to be demolishing each other. Engage in a
standing battle? Well, maybe I should. It would be good self-
advertisement."
Miyata looked like he was in a "do-or-die" situation, "I couldn’t
exhibit my ability in HERO’S and Dynamite!! My opponent is tough but
I want to show what I got."
