One of Japan’s popular sports newspapers Tokyo Sports ran an article about the possibility of FEG starting a middleweight tournament beginning in March. The report began with the comments made by FEG head Sadaharu Tanikawa, "From the March show on, I would like to see the entire Kakutougi world unite to do something very interesting." The idea is a second "grand coalition" but basically the HERO’S and ex-PRIDE group is now under full integration and the event title "HERO’S" might even disappear.

In this March show, the big plans are now being discussed, "It’s still in the conceptual phase but we are thinking an event with a central focus on the 85 kg / 187.38 lbs weight class (middleweight). In the days ahead, I am planning to nail the details with the staff from Yarennnoka!" With fighters under the FEG contract and the fighters Yarennoka! are dealing with, a very interesting middleweight tournament could take place.

Kazuo Misaki, Kazushi Sakuraba, Yoshihiro Akiyama, Denis Kang, Masakatsu Funaki, Melvin Manhoef, Yousuke Nishijima, Minowaman, Don Sik Yoon………

Not a bad list of names especially for the Japanese, and indeed for the Korean market. And in this March show, is it fair to say that the consolidation takeover by FEG is going to be completed and perhaps HERO’S will be over and a new show would begin under the control of FEG?
