Demonstrating that they are both going through great stage in their careers Demian Maia and Marcelo Garcia reached the finals of the Black Belt absolute. Demian, who has been on a tear for some time now, defeated Fernando ‘Soluco’ Di Piero with a ‘omoplata chicken-wing’ to reach the finals while Garcia, who has finally shaken a series of injuries that have plagued him for over a year, submitted Andre Galvao with a choke from the back. The final will take place tomorrow along with the the Black Belt weight division matches.In the Brown Belt weight finals it was Mike Weaver v Tarsys Humphries.
