I just want to follow up on the tournament on June 25th and 26th. We received great support from our community of jiu-jitsu competitors, coaches, parents, and sponsors. It was with great satisfaction that we were able to give Kick-Start the amount of $7,000.00. For the ones who do not know about the great work of this organization, they use martial arts programs throughout 30 different high schools in the state of Texas. Their mission is to provide discipline and self confidence in order to prevent children from inner city neighborhoods from getting involved with gangs or drugs. They have already helped 35.000 kids. It takes $500 a year to keep a child enrolled on their program. It takes $50.000 a year to keep a juvenile in a correction center. We just hope that at this opportunity we were able not only to provide some funds to help their cause, but above all to raise the awareness of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu community about the importance of the work of a Foundation like Kick-Start.
