Brazilian Black Belt Camp Feedback – from the promoterI just want to share with you a feed back we got about our BJJ CAMP that will happen August 13. www.brazilianblackbelt.com Hey Felipe! ‘ A great camp! I really enjoyed the ten days and learned more than I could have ever imagined! Especially in such a small amount of time! Thanks very much for the experience and I hope to see you guys again soon! I couldn’t be happier that I chose BrazilianBlackBelt camp! Unlike other commercial BJJ camps which have followed, the BrazilianBlackBelt camp let me develop my BJJ to a level I never thought possible in such a small amount of time, all in a family type atmosphere. For ten days you train and live under the same roof as the other students you are training with, as well as the very people you are learning from. The famous black belt instructors aren’t just seen around the gym on the odd occasion, they are there for the whole camp. At the BrazilianBlackBelt camp, students are taught personally by all the instructors advertised. The instructors are there for the duration of the camp tending to all the students. Everyone eats together, trains together, and most importantly, everyone has fun together. An unforgettable experience and one I hope to relive very soon !’Ian Kwok- U.S. Open X News Flash 7-7-05 Online registration for the U.S. Open X Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Tournament, Saturday and Sunday, October 22-23, in Santa Cruz, CA is now available. I just want to follow up on the tournament on June 25th and 26th. We received great support from our community of jiu-jitsu competitors, coaches, parents, and sponsors. It was with great satisfaction that we were able to give Kick-Start the amount of $7,000.00. For the ones who do not know about the great work of this organization, they use martial arts programs throughout 30 different high schools in the state of Texas. Their mission is to provide discipline and self confidence in order to prevent children from inner city neighborhoods from getting involved with gangs or drugs. They have already helped 35.000 kids. It takes $500 a year to keep a child enrolled on their program. It takes $50.000 a year to keep a juvenile in a correction center. We just hope that at this opportunity we were able not only to provide some funds to help their cause, but above all to raise the awareness of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu community about the importance of the work of a Foundation like Kick-Start. If anyone is interested to find out more about it, please let them check the website at www.kick-start.org. Thanks again for your coverage and support! All the best, Carlos Machado.2005 America’s CupThe Florida Federation of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will be hosting the 2005 America’s Cup in Orlando, Fl. on August 13th, 2005.
