Confirmed to be fighting Sergei Kharitov as one of the Pride GP second round special fights on June 26th, Pedro Rizzo has reportedly turned down an offer to spend some time training with Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ in Croatia. Despite the interest of Mirko’s team, revealed by sources close to teammate Fabr?cio Werdum, even before an official approach Rizzo declared that it would not be interesting for his career: ‘For me it would not be interesting. I have my team here and Mirko might be a future opponent. I don’t know if I’m going to fight in Pride, nothing is certain yet. But if I start fighting and I start winning the fights and than I need to face him? It would be a terrible situation, so it’s better to avoid it’ says Rizzo before Pride’s invitation to fight on June 26th. Rizzo’s last fight was in November of 2003, when he defeated Ricco Rodriguez by unanimous decision at UFC 45. Since then, Rizzo has been training with Ruas Vale Tudo as well as helping a lot of other top fighters such as Kazuhiro Nakamura, Japanese star who will fight Wanderlei Silva at the same night of June 26th.
