with Rafael Werneck One of the best submission fighters in Brazil, Alexandre ‘Cacareco’ Ferreira was one of the stars during the ADCC 2003 event, capturing 2nd in his weight class and in the Absolute. Dreaming of an invitation to ADCC 2005, scheduled for May 28th and 29th in Long Beach, California, he did not fight in the Brazil Trials. However, ‘Cacareco’ did not miss the opportunity to check out some of his probable opponents in action at the Trials. Asked about who he should be concerned about, he did not take too much time to answer: ‘Roger Gracie is the one to be beaten at ADCC. He is in great shape and it is going to be very hard to defeat him. Because of that he is the only one I would like to chose if I gave the chance to point to an ideal opponent’ says Cacareco. In 2004, Alexandre Cacareco left Gracie Barra Combat Team complaining about the lack of good fights. Now with BTT, he assures everyone that he is ready to fight anyone, anywhere at anytime. ‘I’m ready. No matter if it is going to be MMA or a submission fight. Everybody is supporting me at BTT. Ze Mario Sperry, Murilo Bustamante and all the other training partners are awesome’ finishes the Brazilian Top Team fighter. Cacareco?s last MMA fight was in November of 2001, when he was defeated by Chris Munsen at HooknShoot. His record shows eight victories, including one over Heath Herring in 1999, and four losses.
