ADCC 2015 takes place in Sao Paulo, Brazil on August 29 & 30, 2015, we continue handicapping the divisions now jumping to the ladies Over 60KG division. Below is the up to date official list of competitors

Female +60 kg

  1. Gabrielle Garcia – Brazil (ADCC 2013 Winner)
  2. Sophia Nordenö – Sweden (European Trials Winner)
  3. Amanda Santana – USA (North American Trials Winner)
  4. Fernanda Mazzelli Almeida Maio – Brazil (1st South American Trials Winner)
  5. Jéssica Da Silva Oliveira – Brazil (2nd South American Trials Winner)
  6. Marysia Malyjasiak – Poland (Invited)
  7. Ana Laura Cordeiro – Brazil (Invited)
  8. Alison Tremblay –  Canada (Invited)

Current Champion Gabi Garcia is returning to defend her title. Gabi has been the dominant ladies competitor for the past few years and she is clearly the favorite going into ADCC 2015. Garcia's combination of power and technique is hard to beat especially under ADCC rules. While no one can predict outcomes of matches the only ladies that I can see challenging Gabi are Ana Laura Cordeiro and Fernanda Mazzelli. Ana Laura was one of the top ladies competitors a few years ago but a back injury took her away from the competition circuit. She returned this year and took Gold at the BJJ Worlds at her weight. She is technical and strong but much lighter than Gabi and she lacks ADCC experience. Mazzelli is the current Super-heavy BJJ World Champion and is a force of her own. Depending on the bracket and strategy she can beat anyone so look for her to challenge for the title, again lack of ADCC experience can be a factor
