Pacific X-treme Combat (PXC) is proud to support yet another PXC Fighter by releasing him from his contractual obligations in order for him to sign with The UFC. PXC is one of the best MMA shows in Asia with regular events in the Philippines and Guam, while The UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) is the world’s top MMA organization.
PXC Welterweight Champion, Lim Hyun Gyu, also known as “The Ace”, hails from South Korea and trains with Korean Top Team, a respected camp that has produced some of Asia’s best fighters, including the UFC fighters Chan Sung “The Korean Zombie” Jung and Dongi “The Ox” Yang.
Gyu has fought his last 4 fights as an exclusive PXC fighter, defeating BJ Penn’s student and Hawaiian standout, Ross Ebanez, Ferrid Kheder of France, Japan’s Takahiro Kawanaka, and finally, Guam’s top Welterweight, Ryan Biggler in PXC-32 on July 28th.
Like many of PXC’s top fighters, Lim Hyun Gyu has been on the UFC radar for the last year or so, and it is rumored that Gyu may appear on the card for the UFC’s upcoming debut in Macau later this year.
PXC has featured UFC talent including Dan Severn, Jeremy Horn, Roy Nelson, Rich Clemente and Eddie Yagin throughout its 33 professional events. Current PXC Fighters are certainly representative of the best MMA talent in Asia, including Guam’s Jon Tuck and Joe Taimanglo, JJ Ambrose from the US, Hawaii’s Harris Sarmiento, as well as Crisanto Pitpitungue, Ale Cali, and Mark Striegl from the Philippines.
