The UFC has signed Icelandic prospect Gunnar Nelson. He will make his debut against German prospect Pascal Krauss at UFC on Fuel TV 5, which takes place Sept. 29 at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England.

Nelson does hold a 9-0-1 record as an MMA fighter, but his biggest accomplishments have come on the grappling mats. The 23-year-old placed fourth in the absolute division at the 2009 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship. Along the way he defeated veteran grapplers Jeff Monson and David Avellan. Nelson also won gold medals in both gi and no-gi at the 2009 IBJJF Pan American Championships. In his last MMA contest, he submitted Alexander Butenko with a first-round armbar.

Earlier this year, Krauss return from over a year out of action, but dropped a decision to John Hathaway. He made his UFC debut back at UFC 122 in 2010 with a victory over Mark Scanlon. Before signing with the UFC, Krauss held a 9-0 record with seven submissions and two knockouts.

The UFC's return to England will feature several British fighters. So far the card features Dan Hardy, John Maguire, John Hathaway, Paul Sass, Brad Pickett, Jimi Manuwa, Andy Ogle, Tom Watson and Jason Young.
