With registration for the event closed some of our questions have been answered, Bruno Malfacine will indeed compete in the Rooster weight along with many other tops including Caio Terra and Rafael “Barata” Freitas. Rubens Charles “Cobrinha” is also back at feather showing a remarkable comeback from a possible injury, regardless it is great to see “Cobra” on the mats. Along side in his division another notable news is the return of former Champion Fredson Paixao!
The medium weight division not only has a ton of people but it is loaded with talent, just to name a few Claudio Calasans, Lucas Leite, Rodrigo Santana, Vitor Estima, Clark Gracie and Kron Gracie are in this weight. The lightweight division has 60 competitors and the medium-heavy has 57
One notable name missing (or perhaps my eyesight is failing) was Kayron Gracie. Kayron was scheduled to do a Superfight against Lovato Jr at the World Expo and had to pull out, we now wonder if Kayron got injured?
The ladies divisions are all complete except for I didn’t see Hanette Staacks name listed. Bummer, she is always a favorite and an icon!
