Pan 2012 is over but many stories developed from this tremendous event. One such story is the story about Dick Kotasek and his living proof that age is a stated of mind and always believing in never being to young or too old for anything:

Black Belt under Professor Pedro Sauer, Dick Kotasek, competed yet once again. Kotasek is a 70 year old Minnesotan who has competed in the Pan Ams as a Blue Belt, Purple Belt, Brown Belt and now as a Black Belt. He has won Gold twice, one at Blue and one at Purple, and now as a Black Belt he is going for it again. Dick has competed in Judo, and has trained at the Kodokan in Japan and has been doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 1994.

Greg Nelson stated about Dick: “He is one the primary BJJ Instructors at our Academy in MN, which has over 550 students. He trains with everyone, from the young to the to the much younger than himself, several times a week. I hope you will be able to see him, and possibly do an piece on him. He is one of the nicest and most genuine person I know.”
