Romero “Jacare” the leader of Alliance team pronounces him team ready: “I’ve never trained a group like this for one competition. it was 2 months of intense preparation. We have finalized our training with the Camp. We begin the final journey to conquer the title as I will depart for California with 25 competitors including 5 ladies. On Wednesday we unite with the other Alliances academies with Fabio Gurgel and Franjinha “Muller” and head to Irvine where we begin our quest for the “Grand Slam” this year. “
Rickson Gracie In California
After 3 great seminars in Miami, DC and Nashville Master Rickson Gracie arrived in California to help finalize his son Kron’s preparation for the Pan. Rickson was very happy with teh seminars and with the attendance: “The seminars went great, the Valente’s in Miami, Pedro Sauer in DC and Eric Silver in Nashville are to be commended. They all have great people with them.” When told that the feedback from his seminars has been super positive Rickson stated: “I an pleased to know especially because half of the attendants of my seminars are higher belts (Brown and Black) and if they are pleased then I am reassured that the message that I have is effective.”
Pro-Surfers in the Pan
It seems that surfing alone is not enough for some people, especially World class surfers. We all know about former World Longboard Champion Joel Tudor competing and winning in BJJ but now another top surfer former WCT surfer Dustin Barca is signed up to compete in the lightweight Blue. Barca a native of Kawaii is one of the best surfers in the World today and his passion for BJJ is only surpassed by the waves.
5th Arizona International Open BJJ
The 5th AZ International Open of BJJ will be on TV for the first time in Arizona! On Saturday, April 24th, from 4:00 to 4:30 pm, the tournament will be featured on Cox Cable Channel 7, which can reach 929,186 Households in Phoenix and Tucson. The TV Show is being produced by our head sponsor Many Weapons, and it will feature interviews, Highlights of the competition, and more. Don’t forget to set your DVR!
