Previously it was announced that Shine Fights signed ADCCchampion Braulio Estima to a multi-fight MMA deal. Now Shine Fights confirms Estima’s firstopponent will be Rick Hawn.
Although Estima has not competed in MMA yet he is the talk of the “town” in BJJcircles. Most recently Estima defeatedall eight of his competitors in both the -88kg and absolute division at the two2009 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships in Barcelona last Septemberincluding Andre Galvao in the -88kg finals and Xande Ribeiro in the absolutefinals. Rick Hawn is a judo specialist and 3-0 in MMA. All of Hawn’s MMA wins have come in the first round and all by KO orTKO, most recently against Bruce Boyington last June.
Shine Fights made a big splash in 2009 with their first two shows in Ohio andFlorida. The first show was filled withtop up-and-comers like Kyle Baker, Beau Baker, Mario Stapel, and AntwainBritt. The second show more heavilyfeatured Florida fighters being an “ATT vs. the World” theme including RoanCarneiro, Yves Edwards, Micah Miller, and Flavio Firmino. At this point there is no confirmed date forShine Fights 3.
