Roger Gracie and Romulo Barral are set to repeat the Absolute finals as they did in ’07. Both figthers were in top form and submitted every opponent on their way to the final. Barral submitted Antonio Braga Neto in the quarters with a choke and then submitted Gabriel Vella with a triangle. Roger pretty much smothered and choked everyone in front of him.
In the weight divisions Rubens "Cobrinha", Mario Reis, Rafael Mendes all advanced. So did Kron Gracie, Marcelo Garcia & Sergio Moraes in the middle weight while one of the favorites, Bill Cooper lost his match by an advantage. Other favorites to lose was Lucas Lepri (points) against "Durinho" while Antonio Braga Neto was submitted by Ricardo "Demente" in the weight. The middle quarters will have Marcelo Garcia facing Tiago Alves, a rematch of the Pan finals with Lucas Leite v Kron Gracie, Sergio Moraes against Augusto "Tio Chico" Vieira and Alan "Fifou" do Nascimento against Pedro Bessa (who slayered Cooper)
In the ladies absolute Kyra Gracie will meet Lana Stephanac in the finals. Others advancing are Michelle Nicolini, Luana Alzuguir, Leticia Ribeiro, Luka Dias, Bianca Barreto, Shioda Sayaka, Penny Thomas and other tops.
