After months of speculation and after carefully reviewing all the bids from various promoters, the ADCC Committee has awarded 2009 World Championships to Barcelona, Spain. The event is to take place at the end of September with exact dates to be announced soon. The city of Barcelona is used to hosting huge events such as the ’92 Olympics and it is a perfect fit for the vision of the ADCC Committee. With the tremendous growth of ADCC in Europe due in large part to the tireless efforts of the European President Marko Leisten and his team, it is fitting that the main event move to the old continent!
