With a prize purse of US$111,000 the World BJJ Pro starts tomorrow at the Zayed Sports City Tennis Complex, in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. The event marks a new phase for BJJ. Carlao Santos, the man behind the event is ecstatic about the possibilities: "This is a new era, before this jiu-jitsu was amateur, after this tournament it will be professional"
Santos led the push of BJJ In the Emirates and has the support and patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
The 2-day event will have some of the best in the World including World Champions Braulio Estima, Marcelo Garcia, Rubens "Cobrinha" Charles, Robson Moura, Gabriel Vella, Rafael Lovato Jr, Fabio Gurgel amongst others
