Mexican National Jiujitsu Championship – from Mario Delgado

A big event took place in Mexico this past 8th of November, it was the The third Mexican National Jiujitsu Championship , Renzo`s team won for the third year in a row.

The third edition of the Mexican jiujitsu national championship took place in Mèxico City on November 8th, people from over 15 states of the whole country met on Mexico City for the National Championship.

People from the states of Sonora, Distrito Federal, Oaxaca, Jalisco, Quintana Roo, Veracruz, Michoacan, Guanajutao, Nuevo Leon, Edo. México, Guerrero, Yucatan. And also International competitors from Australia, USA, España, Argentina, Chile, Alemania y Belgica.

The technical level that we saw at the competition was very good, there were categories for adults, teenagers and kids. Also we saw a great display of heart and will that are characteristic for the Mexican fighters.

For the third year in a row, Renzo`s team won by a large margin winning first place in 7 of the 8 blue belts divisions, and winning 2 first places out of the 4 categories of the purple belt divisions and 2 second places.

Renzo`s team is directed by Mario Delgado Davila, The only Mexican with a black belt rank in Mexico, who also has competed an placed on some of the biggest event in the USA, like the Grapplers Quest, The North American Grappling Championships, and the Arnold World Submissionfighting Championship, a former abu dahabi competitor is working to develop a strong team in Mexico.

With over 150 students and the near opening of their 3rd academy of Renzo`s team in Mexico, the team believes that in the near future is going to be a force on international competition, since Mexico City is the biggest city in the world, its proximity to the USA and the fact that jiujitsu is growing fast in Mexico , the team is planning to add strong competitors to the already strong competition team from Renzo`s academy in NYC that just won the Panamerican no gi championship. In the near future we can expect to see competitors from Mexico on the biggest international events.
