The International Fight League (IFL) is planning for a big show on Friday, August 15, 2008 when they introduce the new six sided “Hex” ring at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It appears as though they are planning at least three of their six titles to be defended on that night. One bout appears to be already signed as Vladimir Matyushenko will defend his light-heavyweight title against Alexandre “Cacareco” Ferreira. Since losing to Andrei Arlovski in 2003, Matyushenko has won his last eight bouts and is currently undefeated in the IFL. He lost saw action in April of 2008 when he stopped Jamal Patterson by TKO in the second round. Alexandre Ferreira is an ADCC veteran with an overall MMA record of 14-5. He has won six out of his last seven fights with six submissions and holds victories over UFC veterans Heath Herring and Branden Lee Hinkle. IFL Featherweight Champion Wagney Fabiano and Welterweight Champion Jay Hieron could also defend their titles as well and new Middleweight Champion Dan Miller could have his first title defense on this card against Benji Radach or Tim Kennedy.
