I GB San Clemente Conditioning Class at the Beach
This weekend Gracie Barra San Clemente put on it’s first Conditioning Class at the pier.
Gracie Barra Schools from South California came together last Saturday for a Jiu-Jitsu Class at the beach of San Clemente, CA . The class was part of the team’s preparation for the upcoming Panamerican Jiu-Jitsu Championships, was led by Professor Flavio Almeida, Head Instructor of Gracie Barra San Clemente, and attracted students from several different GB Schools in the region like: Lake Forest, Garden Grove, Westlake, Corona, Escondido , and Irvine .
The mix of Jiu-Jitsu, good friends, surf, beach, and Acai brought some big names of our sport to the beach of San Clemente. Renato "Babalu" Sobral, Prof. Fabio Leopoldo, and Prof. Felipe Jerry Oliveira were also enjoying the class with their families.
The event was open to the public with parent’s, kids, and Jiu-Jitsu practitioners training together. The class started out with a jog on the beach to warm up, Jiu-Jitsu specifics conditioning drills (based on the Training for Warriors methods), followed by basic fundamental techniques and live training. It was great to see the community come together for this event. As we were all training many people were curious about those 60 people training with their Kimonos and will probably make BJJ part of their lives soon.
Special thanks to the City of San Clemente for allowing this event to take place, Marine Safety for keeping the event safe and controlled, Sambazon for keeping us well nourished, and local businesses for allowing us to promote our event.
