On November 17, 2007, UFC 78 was held at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
Every competitor submitted to urine drug screening on the night of the event. This screening tests for performance enhancers, alcohol, illegal "street" drugs, unauthorized prescription drugs and banned over the counter substances.
In addition, four competitors were selected on the week of the bout, to submit to additional blood testing. This blood testing included testing for the presence of 24 steroids, free testosterone levels, total testosterone levels, and testosterone to epitestosterone ratios.
None of the competitors tested positive for banned performance enhancers.
