“SHE’S A FEMME FATALE…”
Even without the wine, Fatal Femmes Fighting Championship 3: War of the Roses, Saturday, November 3, at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, CA should be a wild night as some of the top names in the rising world of women’s MMA are jetting in for this show.
If you speak French or a fan of Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground you may already be familiar with the term “Femme Fatale.” Weather it conjures images of a dangerous woman or a beautiful song or both, you might say that tomorrow’s third show by the MMA organization Fatal Femmes Fighting Championship includes all these attributes.
Tough, tactical, technical, sexy, submission experts and knock out artists will most definitely be at hand for a show which will include Lisa Ward stepping up from her Flyweight title to challenge Japanese Judo sensation Megumi Yabushita who is trimming down to formidable shape. Since Ward believes she has conquered all she can in her division, not only has she called out MMA machine Tara LaRosa, but she is up against a tough litmus test who can whip you through the air like a Raggedy Ann doll, and has knocked out opponents purely with judo throws and spontaneous wrist submissions, such as Erin Toughill experienced.
In a previously announced title fight, Brazilian Vanessa Porto was due to fight FFF lightweight champion Roxanne Modafferi, but unfortunately “Roxy” had to sit this one out due to injury. Instead, also from Japan, replacing her will be the talented judoka Hitomi Akano who placed in the last Abu Dhabi tournament, and has vast experience in MMA. This co main event is a classic match up of BJJ versus uncle J, judo and promises to have some sparks flying.
The weigh-ins will take place at Boston’s Bar & Grill (909-758-9115) in Ranchso Cucamonga, CA and it is open to public! It will begin at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 2nd.
