American Top Team heavyweight and former UFC number one contender, Jeff Monson has signed to fight Wes Sims on Saturday, January 20, 2007 , at the Gracie Fighting Championships (GFC) at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Monson will replace Brazilian Top Team founder Mario Sperry, who had to withdraw due to an injury. The last time we saw Jeff Monson, he was on the losing end of a unanimous decision for the UFC Heavyweight Title. Before that fight, Monson had won an incredible 16 fights in a row. He joins an all-star card which features UFC, Pride, Icon Sport, and Rumble on the Rock veterans. Tickets for this event are still on sale and available at all Ticketmaster outlets with prices starting at $55. If you can?t make the event, GFC will also be available on pay-per-view in the United States and Canada .
