On Saturday April 8th the first competition on the World ADCC calendar took place in Sydney at the State Sports Centre, home of the 2000 Olympic Games. This is in preparation for the World Championships in 2007. Unfortunately it was a disappointing turnout for Sydney with 50% of the competitors coming from Melbourne. The maximum entries will be 16 per weight division at the qualifiers, which means some competitors may miss out. Those who chose to compete regardless of their result will be guaranteed a place in the finals to be held in Melbourne early next year. The prior ADCC representatives will also be guaranteed a place. The winners and runners up will be seeded 1 and 2 respectively at the trials and the 2005 representatives as the 3rd seeded competitor. It is important to understand that we all need to support the ADCC competitions here otherwise we may not have this type of competition and opportunity for our competitors in the future. Here are the seeds for the ADCC trials:UNDER 65KG1.
