Jungle Fight 5Tropical Hotel, Manaus (AM)Saturday, November 26th 2005For almost four years, Jose Pele Landi-Johns had no reason to celebrate. Between 2001 and 2004 he fought five times, and did nothing but lose. But in May of 2005 he returned with a win when he defeated Fabricio Monteiro by KO at Jungle Fight 4.On November 26th Pele will be back in Manaus, where he is going to be fighting on Jungle’s fifth edition. This time, the opponent comes from far away: Alexander Shlemenko from Russia. Despite the age difference – Shlemenko is eleven years younger and has only two losses in 22 MMA appearances – Pele is very confident.’I know he is young and knows how to exchange punches, but this is no reason for me to feel intimidated. I like to throw blows while we are standing and if I feel his Jiu-Jitsu is not good I’ll try to take him down and finish the fight on the ground’ says Pele.Training hard at the Pele Team facilities in Curitiba, the Brazilian idol confesses his excitement with the chance that was given to him by Jungle Fight’s promoter Wallid Ismail. ‘I feel very proud when I’m fighting at Jungle. I love being in Manaus and I always have good performances there. I consider myself in my best shape, physically and technically speaking’ ends Pele. The Jungle Fight 5 official card is almost complete.
