UFC’s Chris Leben discussed his future with the UFC in a brief interview!.ADCC: Patrick Cote and yourself went toe-to-toe for three rounds at UFC?s Ultimate Fight Night. In that slugfest you got hit a couple of times and you popped him. So how hard does Patrick Cote hit and were you hurt at all during the fight? CHRIS: He’s definitely one of the hardest hitters I’ve ever faced. He hit me with a straight right halfway through the first round that left me seeing white until the end of the round.ADCC: After your decision victory, you were very humble in your post fight interview with Joe Rogan. It seems that most guys want a title shot right away, but you said you might be ready in a few years. Can you explain that? CHRIS: I’m in no rush; I want to make sure that when I get the title, I can keep it.ADCC: Do you like the 185-pound weight class? And do you have any desire to move down to 170? CHRIS: I don’t want to move down to 170, I’m happy at 185.ADCC: Your only loss was to Joe Doerkson, who is currently on the UFC roster. Do you want another shot at him? Who else would you like to fight in the UFC? CHRIS: I would definitely love another shot at Joe Doerkson; other than that, whoever the UFC wants to give me is fine with me.ADCC: Speaking of people you fought, Mike Swick is on a tear and there seemed to be a little bad blood when you guys were on the Ultimate Fighter season 1. Any chance of you guys fighting again in the UFC? CHRIS: It’s always a possibility, you’d have to ask Joe Silva that question.ADCC: What is your relationship like with the guys from the TUF 1? Is there animosity between you and Josh Kosheck still? CHRIS: Not really, he knows he got lucky. I still keep in touch with a few of the guys from the show.ADCC: Who is your favorite fighter? CHRIS: That’s a tough one. I’m going to have to go with Fedor and B.J. Penn on this one.ADCC: What?s next for Chris Leben and is your next opponent already selected? CHRIS: Well, for now I’m going to take a little time off to enjoy the summer and do some camping and dirt-biking. Those are my short-term plans. As far as who I’m fighting next, that again would have to be a question you’d ask the UFC.ADCC: Anything to say to your fans? CHRIS: Yes. I want to say that a lot of people jump ship when you’ve had a lackluster performance and they turn their back on you. I want to thank the people who were my fans since day one and those who still had my back even when I lost those fights on the show. That means a lot to me.
