To see how much the competitors have advanced in the last couple of years, and to see some of the new generation of grapplers coming through.”The last ADCC Submission Wrestling competition was held early in 2004 in Melbourne with Head Judge Lubo Guedjev officiating. That event was to effectively seed the winners and runners-up appropriately for this, the main qualifying competition. They automatically earn a place at the qualifiers guaranteeing them a chance at the title and an all expenses paid trip to the USA in May of 2005 to compete against the best the World has to offer.’ continues Donehue.Donehue went on to announce ‘Two past representatives in the last World Championships who did not compete at the seeding event will be guaranteed a place in the trials, these are Soa Palalei and Anthony Perosh.Donehue concludes by explaining ‘The competition is open to all citizens of Australia or New Zealand. The only way someone may not be able to compete is if a division is too large it will be cut back and invitations extended to those with the most experience. All applications will need to be in by January 9th, 2005.
