Hurricane Sandy, dubbed the storm of the century so far, has been battering the North Eastern USA for a couple of days now causing havoc in many states especially New York and New Jersey so far. As it moves further west and delivers havoc to other states, millions are without electricity, several deaths and property destruction. Now one wonders how will that affect the Worlds No-Gi?
Yeah the event will go down in sunny Long Beach this weekend but with tens of thousands of flights canceled and hundreds of thousands worrying about digging out of their mess, I imagine the turnout to the event will suffer. Of course this is minor in light of the tragedy and destruction that we are witnessing but perhaps, the notion that life goes on and the ability of some competitors to still make the event and compete will bring some sense of normalcy to an otherwise chaotic week for the USA. I sure hope so.
Stay safe "everyone" in the Northeast!
