The UFC latest signee, former WWE professional wrestler CM Punk was announced with great fanfare during UFC 181 this past Saturday. CM Punk, whose birth name Phil Brooks, has never fought professional MMA in his life but is serious about his new career and has started preparing for it at the Gracie Academy. TV star Ed O'Neil announced it on his twitter: "So happy for my friend @CMPunk for getting a chance to live his second dream. I know you will work hard and do well"
The Gracie Academy has helped several top fighters including Lyoto Machida, Kevin Casey, Brandon Schaub and others. It will be interesting to see the progress of this new UFC star between now and his debut in 2015
