One of Jiu-Jitsu's brightest starts announced on his personal Facebook page that he is not competing in ADCC 2013 or the Jiu-Jitsu Expo. Vieira declares: It is with great sadness that I am announcing to my friends and to the people that follow my work that I will be out of ADCC and World Jiu Jitsu Expo due to an injury to my knee that occurred last week. I have been treating it as much as possible but unfortunately it is not 100% and still loose when I step on the ground . . . "
The ADCC Committee is always ready for these last minute injuries and already are searching for replacements. AS we stated before, it is quite common for athletes training hard for a major event to get injured or miss the event for various causes, this is not new to ADCC. In past editions the committee has faced many of these same situations, such as the one time in Brazil when a fighter did not make his flight and the committee replaced him with none other than Marcelo Garcia!
