Multiple media sources have confirmed a featherweight fight between Makwan Amirkhani and Jason Kight. The bout will be part of UFC Fight Night 130, which takes place May 27 at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England.
Amirkhani will be returning to action for the first time after losing a UFC fight. He signed with the promotion in 2015 and won his first three fights. Amirkhani picked up his first two wins over Andy Ogle and Masio Fullen in less than two minutes combined. He then took a decision over Mike Wilkinson. However, in his last fight, he tasted defeat in the Octagon for the first time as he lost via split decision at UFC Fight Night 107 against Arnold Allen.
Knight also experienced early success in the UFC. He dropped a decision against veteran Tatsuya Kawajiri in his debut. However, after that, Knight won four-straight fights including victories over respected prospects Daniel Hooker and Chas Skelly. After defeating Skelly at UFC 211, Knight has dropped a pair of fights. He fell via knockout against Ricardo Lamas at UFC 214. In his last fight, Knight gave up a decision against Gabriel Benitez.
This bout is expected to be part of the main card of UFC Fight Night 130. No other main card bouts have been announced or reported at this point.
