Stephens vs. Moicano booked for UFC on Fox 24

Stephens vs Moicano

A featherweight matchup between Jeremy Stephens (25-13) and Renato Moicano (10-0-1) has been added to April’s UFC on Fox 24 card. UFC officials announced the fight on Wednesday.

UFC on Fox 24 will be held on April 15 from Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. The bout order and a main event for the card has yet to be officially announced. The main card will air on Fox, with preliminary card fights airing on FS1 and Fight Pass.

Stephens has been up-and-down in his last few fights and is coming off a decision loss to Frankie Edgar at UFC 205 in November. Prior to that he won a “Fight of the Night” decision over former bantamweight champ Renan Barao last May, following a decision loss to Max Holloway in Dec. 2015. With 16 knockout wins to his credit, “Lil’ Heathen” is always dangerous and is currently ranked No. 5 in the 145-pound division.

Moicano remains unbeaten his his professional career and is 2-0 inside the octagon. A former Jungle Fight champion, Moicano made a successful UFC debut on just 10 days notice in Dec. 2014 with a submission victory over Tom Niinimaki. An injury sidelined the 27-year-old Brazilian for 2015, but he returned to action in May of last year with a split decision win over Zubaira Tukhugov. Moicano is part of Constrictor Team and has finished half of his wins via submission.
