Simon faces Zani in first defense of BW title at LFA 36

Ricky Simon makes the first defense of the Legacy Fighting Alliance bantamweight title as he faces Vinicius Zani Friday night.  LFA 36 takes place March 23rd at the Morongo Casino and Resort in Cabazon, CA with a main card broadcast on AXS TV.

Ricky Simon won the belt vacated by Leandro Higo when he defeated Chico Camus at LFA 29 in December.  Simon holds a record of 11-1 with the only blemish on his record being by submission against Anderson dos Santos at Titan FC 37 in March 2016.  In his four wins since then Simon defeated Donavon Frelow at DWTNCS then won the LFA title, his two other wins in his streak coming in KOTC.  11-4 Zani is also on a four-win streak with wins in RFA over Joe Murphy and LFA over William Joplin and Joey Miolla.

The co-main event features 12-3 Jamall Emmers vs. 15-6 Guilherme Faria.  12-3 Emmers is a familiar face at AXS TV events with his most recent loss being to Thiago Moises while since then he scored wins over Rivaldo Junior and Cory Sandhagen in LFA.  In his most recent fight Emmers defeated Chris Avila in regional promotion Global Knockout.  15-6 Faria is coming off a loss to Jason Soares in Fight Time while his prior bouts all took place in Brazil.
