RIZIN 12/29 & 12/31: Kron Gracie vs Arsen Yamamoto Confirmed

At the RIZIN press conference held on Monday. (from left to right) Rickson Gracie, life-size panel of Kron Gracie, Arsen Yamamoto, and Ikuei YamamotoRIZIN FF held a press conference in Tokyo on Monday and announced another fight for the upcoming RIZIN FIGHTING WORLD GRAND-PRIX 2015 scheduled to be held at Saitama Super Arena from December 29th to 31st.

Kron Gracie, 2013 ADCC world champion, will take on Arsen Yamamoto, a 19-year greco-roman prodigy that won 2013 FILA Cadet World Wrestling Championship. This fight will be held at 66 kg / 145 lbs & under.

Kron is a 27-year old and the second son of Rickson Gracie. He is the BJJ black belt that defeated Shinya Aoki in Metamoris. Kron made a pro MMA debut in Japan last year and tapped out Hyung Soo Kim in just 65 seconds.

Arsen's mother is a former world wrestling champion Miyu Yamamoto. His father is PRIDE / UFC veteran Enson Inoue. His grand father, Ikuei Yamamoto, also was a wrestler that placed seventh in Munich Olympic Games. His uncle is an UFC fighter Norifumi KID Yamamoto, and his aunt is a former wrestling world champion Seiko Yamamoto that is currently married to MLB pitcher Yu Darvish. So the entire family is a celebrity in Japan.

Arsen is a bright young hope of this wrestling elite family. Started to train wrestling at age four, and this year, Arsen just placed third in Junior Olympic at 66 kg & Under division.

Kron didn't make it to the press conference, but sent a message via video, "Arsen was raised in the family of wrestlers, his cousin is KID Yamamoto, and he is also very talented. He is in a similar environment as myself. But, I am not fighting my opponent. Its always a battle with my own mind."

After this video, Arsen immediately replied, "I guess he is saying he will fight using his brain but I will fight with my heart. I will do my best to crash him."

And, he followed, "When I was a kid I used to go watch my father's fight, so as UFC too, so I was raised by kakutougi, and my base is wrestling but I really like MMA too."

But apparently he is not switching to MMA completely, "Still, my dream is to compete in 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games though".
