Claire Fryer is confirmed as the opponent of Kanako Murata in Pancrase 286.
This fight will be held at the strawweight, 115 lbs & under.
Fryer is a 37-year old striker with pro MMA record of 4-2.
An Australian have a KO win over another fellow Japanese fighter named Rina Tomita but that was back in 2012. Also, Fryer’s last win was back in November 2013, and she hasn’t fought since March of last year.
Murata went 4-0 in pro MMA before losing to Rin Nakai in last December.
But that fight was held at 125.99 lbs & under which is basically a flyweight. One class above Murata’s weight class so she is undefeated at 115 lbs & under.
Needless to say, Murata is a RIZIN-contracted fighter competing in Pancrase, and this means, this the fight Murata must win.
Bluntly put, this is the fight made for Murata to get back into W column.
Therefore, the pressure is more on the former national wrestling champion but if Murata sticks with utilizing her wrestling skills she should be able to score many takedowns and come out of this fight with W.
