PANCRASE 267 – 05/31/2015: Media Work Out of JJ Ambrose

JJ AmbroseJJ Ambrose held a media work out in Tokyo on Thursday, May 28th.

Ambrose will be taking on an UFC veteran Kazuki Tokudome in the lightweight bout. Tokudome currently ranks second in the Pancrase lightweight ranking so the winner of this fight could face the champion Satoru Kitaoka later this year.

Ambrose is a 28-year old with pro MMA record of 21-5-0 with 4 KO and 13 submission wins. Needless to say, Ambrose is dangerous on the ground. After rolling for few rounds, Ambrose told the reporters, "Just like samurai slashes the enemy with katana, with Jiu-jitsu technique, I am going to be looking for a submission win."

Tokudome got released from UFC after posting less than impressive 1-3 record in the Octagon. However, he came back strong in Pancrase 265 and KO'd Yoshihiro Kojima in just 96 seconds. Tokudome is on a good momentum but Ambrose sounded very confident, "I've seen his (Tokudome) UFC fights. He is a good fighter but I will win, get into the ranking, and will go for that belt."
