PANCRASE 247 – 05/19/2013: Sato vs. Suzuki is the Headliner

Takenori Sato (top) and Shingo Suzuki (bottom) met once back in December 2010 and Sato won via unanimous decision. The headliner of Pancrase 247 is going to be a welterweight title fight between the champion Takenori Sato and the challenger Shingo Suzuki.

Sato defended this belt for four straight times and the Japanese media calls "Immovable" but he didn't look too hot in his last fight. He was taken to a draw by Shooto's current Pacific Rim champion Akihiro Murayama.

On the other end, Suzuki defeated Eiji Ishikawa and Sojiro Orui in title eliminators to capture this opportunity. A veteran from team ALLIANCE got an unbendable heart with heavy hands, and solid ground games including various leg locks.

The other interesting fights in Pancraes 247 are co-main is women's bantamweight bout between Rink Nakai and KOTC champ Brenda Gonzales, UFC vet Motonobu Tezuka against Taichi Nakajima, and Neo Blood tournament first round bouts.
