PANCRASE 247 – 05/19/2013: Sato vs. Suzuki for KOP Title

Welterweight King of Pancrase Takenori Sato (left) and title qualifying tourney winner Shingo Suzuki (right) will finally meet in MayPancrase added a title match for Differ Ariake show in May.

Welterweight King of Pancrase, Takenori Sato, is going to take on Shingo Suzuki.

This was no surprise because Suzuki won a title fight qualifying tournament by defeating Eiji Ishikawa in semi and Sojiro Orui in the final. Suzuki has heavy hands that can KO anyone, and also, variety of leg locks on the ground.

Sato defended this title four straight times, but he didn't look too sharp against Shooto Pacific Rim champ Akihiro Muyrama earlier this month. It was a non-title bout but Murayama was able to take him to a draw. But just little more than 60 days after this fight, Sato has decided to go back to the ring putting his title on line so he must be feeling comfortable about this match-up.
