A lightweight matchup between Sage Northcutt (8-2) and Michel Quinones (8-2) is expected to go down at UFC Fight Night 120 in November. News of the bout was announced on Tuesday.
UFC Fight Night 120 will be held Nov. 11 from Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Va. Top ranked lightweights Dustin Poirier and Anthony Pettis are tapped for the headliner.
Northcutt is coming off a submission loss to Mickey Gall at welterweight at UFC on FOX 22 last December. Before that, “Super Sage” scored a unanimous decision win over Enrique Marin at UFC 200 in July of last year.
Now 3-2 inside the octagon, Northcutt remains unbeaten at lightweight and also holds wins over Cody Pfister and Francisco Trevino since he signed with the UFC in 2015. The 21-year-old Texas native has finished four of his eight career wins via knockout and three by submission.
Quinones was on a five-fight winning streak before dropping his octagon debut against Jared Gordon at UFC Fight Night 112 in June. “El Capo” had been competing under the Titan FC and Absolute Championship banners prior to joining the big leagues and has finished five of his eight wins via knockout.
Quinones is a 32-year-old New York native who now makes his home in Coral Gables, Fla. He trains with Team Wolf Pack and has been affiliated with American Top Team and Real World Training Center as well.
