MMAJunkie has reported that former Invicta FC champion Michelle Waterson has been forced out of her upcoming bout at UFC 194 with an undisclosed injury. She was slated to face Tecia Torres at the event, which takes place Dec. 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
According to the report, the UFC is currently seeking a replacement to face Torres on the card.
Waterson joined the UFC last July after a four-fight stint in Invicta FC. In her second fight for the all female promotion, she defeated Jessica Penne for the Invicta FC atomweight championship. She defended the belt once over Yasuko Tamada before dropping the belt the Herica Tiburcio at Invicta FC 10. In her UFC debut, Waterson defeated Angela Magana via third-round rear-naked choke submission.
Torres joined the UFC after competing on the 20th season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” Since the show, she has picked up back-to-back wins over Angela Magana and Angela Hill. Before joining the reality show, Torres had fought exclusively for Invicta FC and defeated current UFC fighters Felice Herrig, Rose Namajunas and Paige VanZant.
In the main event of UFC 194, featherweight champion Jose Aldo will look to defend his belt against interim champion Conor McGregor. Also on the card, middleweight champion Chris Weidman faces a challenge from former Strikeforce champion Luke Rockhold.
