Mamed Khalidov to stay in KSW and face light heavyweight champion Tomasz Narkun

KSW middleweight champion Mamed Khalidov

Despite rumors that he might move the UFC, KSW middleweight champion Mamed Khalidov will remain with the Polish promotion. His next fight will be a 198-pound catchweight bout against light heavyweight champion Tomasz Narkun. The bout will headline the upcoming KSW 42 event, which takes place March 3 at the Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland.

Khalidov is riding a 15-fight unbeaten streak that dates back to a decision loss against Jorge Santiago under the Sengoku banner in 2010. During his streak, Khalidov has scored victories over the likes of Matt Lindland, Jesse Taylor, Kendall Grove and Luke Barnatt. In his last fight, he scored a decision victory over then-KSW welterweight champion Borys Mankowski in the main event of KSW 39: Colosseum.

Narkun won the lightweight title from UFC veteran Goran Reljic in 2015. He has since defended the belt three times over Cassio de Oliveira, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and Marcin Wojcik. His victory over Wojcik at KSW 39 improved Narkun’s professional record to 14-2.

This is currently the only bout announced for KSW 42. The promotion hosted KSW 41 this past December. In the main event of that show, Roberto Soldic upset Mankowski to take the promotion’s welterweight title.
