Kyung Ho Kang will return to the UFC for the first time in over three years. He will face Guido Cannetti at UFC Fight Night 124. The event takes place Jan. 14 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.
Kang began his UFC career in 2013. After a “no contest” in his promotional debut, he dropped a decision against Chico Camus at UFC 164. Kang then got back on track with a pair of wins over Shunichi Shimizu and Michinori Tanaka. His hiatus from the UFC was due to mandatory military service in his native South Korea.
Cannetti was part of the first season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America.” On the show, he dropped a pair of exhibition bouts against Marco Beltran and Alejandro Perez. In the UFC, he has split his two bouts. He fell via submission at UFC 180 against Enrique Briones. He then picked up his first UFC victory over Hugo Viana on the preliminary card of UFC 190.
The main event of UFC Fight Night 124 has not been confirmed. However, the main card will feature former UFC light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort taking on Uriah Hall in a middleweight bout.
