Krause faces White at UFC St. Louis

Krause vs White

A lightweight matchup between James Krause (24-7) and Alex White (12-3) has been added to the UFC Fight Night 124 card. UFC officials announced the addition to the card this week.

UFC Fight Night 124 will take place Jan. 14 from Scottrade Center in St. Louis. The card will broadcast live on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass. A main event for the card has not yet been officially announced.

Krause is currently on a three-fight winning streak. Following a stint on The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption earlier this year in which he made it to the semifinals, he won a decision over Tom Gallicchio at welterweight at the show’s Finale in July. Prior to that Krause was competing at lightweight but had been on the sidelines for more than a year due to injuries.

The 31-year-old Virginia native won a unanimous decision over Shane Campbell in Feb. 2016 which was preceded by a submission victory over Daron Cruickshank in July 2015. Krause is a BJJ black belt under Leonardo “Leo” Pecanha and has finished 14 of his 24 career wins via submission.

White is coming off a TKO win over Mitch Clarke at UFC 215 in September. Before that he dropped a decision to Tony Martin in January. In Feb. 2016 White snapped a two-fight skid with a unanimous decision over Artem Lobov at UFC Fight Night 82.

“The Spartan” is now 3-3 inside the octagon and also holds a KO win over Estevan Payan from his UFC debut in April 2014. The 29-year-old Missouri native is a BJJ blue belt and has finished five of his 12 career wins via submission and five via knockout.
