Horcher to defend LW title against Regman, Bandejas vs. Pace for vacant BW belt at CFFC 52

Darrell HorcherAlthough the upcoming Cage Fury Fighting Championship card is mainly known at this time for the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board (NJSACB) testing isolating judges the card itself looks solid with two title fights.  CFFC 52 takes place October 31st at the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ with the show eventually to be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.

The issue of judges not scoring bouts the same as viewers is being addressed with two groups of judges.  The first will be cageside as usual while the second will be isolated, only watching the show on closed-circuit.  The NJSACB will compare the scoring with an eye on evaluating if the results can somehow make scoring more accurate but the isolated judges will Stephen Regmannot be rendering decisions at this show.  Given the amount of times a judges’ view is blocked by either the referee or the fighters’ bodies themselves this could at least minimize questionable decisions and therefore itself is news if secondary to the fights themselves.

Bellator vet Darrell Horcher vs. Stephan Regman for the lightweight title serves as the main event.  11-1 Horcher won the title with a TKO of Jordan Stiner at CFFC 45 in February, a fight which upped the Pennsylvania fighter’s win streak to four in a row.  5-1 Regman hasn’t lost a fight since his pro MMA debut while a defeat of Stiner at CFFC 50 earned the Team Tiger Schulmann standout this title fight.

Ricky BandejasIn the co-main event the vacant bantamweight title is on the line between undefeated Ricky Bandejas and UFC vet Nick Pace.  Bandejas has been quickly climbing the ranks at CFFC amassing a record of 5-0 in a year-and-a-half.  So far this year Bandejas submitted Alfred Jones with a rear-naked choke then picked up a TKO over Leo Muniz for his most recent fight.  6-3 Pace is mainly known for going 1-2 in the UFC with a win over Will Campuzano followed by decision losses to Ivan Menjivar and Miguel Torres, the most recent fight being the Torres fight in November 2011.
