A lightweight matchup between Scott “Hot Sauce” Holtzman (10-2) and Darrell “The Saint” Horcher (13-2) has been pegged for UFC Fight Night 123. Both fighters announced the booking on social media over the weekend.
UFC Fight Night 123 will be held Dec. 9 from Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif. The event is expected to broadcast live on FS1 with early prelims streaming on UFC Fight Pass.
Holtzman is coming off a unanimous decision win over Michael McBride at UFC Fight Night 108 in April. Prior to that he dropped a decision to Josh Emmett last December.
Now 3-2 inside the octagon, the 33-year-old Knoxville, Tenn. native has also posted wins over Cody Phister and Anthony Christodoulou since signing with the UFC in 2015. “Hot Sauce” has finished three of his 10 career wins via knockout and two by submission.
Horcher is a Bellator veteran and former CFFC lightweight champion. Riding a five-fight winning streak he 33-year-old Chicago born fighter came in as a short notice replacement in his octagon debut against powerhouse Khabib Nurmagomedov in April 2016 but was stopped in the second round.
Horcher redeemed himself after a proper training camp with a split decision win over Devin Powell at UFC Fight Night 112 in June. “The Saint” has finished six of his 13 career wins via knockout and one by submission.
