In the first of three events on three consecutive weekends for Legacy Fighting Alliance C.J. Hamilton’s aggression and unusual strikes led to his unanimous decision over Jesse Bazzi. LFA 8 took place April 7th at the TD Convention Center in Greenville, SC with a main card broadcast on AXS TV.
Although C.J. Hamilton is known for his wrestling background it was his kicks to the legs and body of Jesse Bazzi that kept Bazzi from mounting an offense. Between kicks Hamilton threw in spinning back fists, jumping knees, and punching combinations that racked up the points. By the end of the three-round main event there was no surprise the judges awarded Hamilton the unanimous decision which increased Hamilton’s record to 11-4 with six wins in a row, Bazzi dropped to 6-2.
In the co-main event Jeremie Holloway made the more experienced fellow Bellator vet Dave Vitkay look one-dimensional en route to a TKO victory. Holloway’s punches and wrestling defense kept the fight standing where Vitkay was largely ineffective. A left jab from Holloway put Vitkay on defense with Vitkay covering up and turning his back. Holloway continued to land punches eventually driving Vitkay to the mat where a couple follow-up shots caused the TKO. Holloway turned his two-fight skid around with his record now resting at 8-2, Vitkay’s seven-win streak has come to an end as he fell to 17-13.
Next weekend LFA 9 takes place in Shawnee, OK with Myron Dennis vs. Danilo Marques in the main event, Aptil 21st sees LFA return to Colorado where Ian Heinisch takes on Lucas Rodolfo Bresolin Rota in the main event.
