A middleweight matchup between Trevin Giles (10-0) and Antonio Braga Neto (9-2) has been added to December’s UFC Fight Night 123 card. The bout was announced by the promotion this week.
UFC Fight Night 123 takes place Dec. 9 at Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif. and will air live on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass. The event will mark the UFC’s first visit to Fresno.
Giles had a memorable octagon debut in July when he knocked out James Bochnovic in the first round at UFC 213. Prior to that the 25-year-old Texan had been competing under the Legacy Fighting Alliance banner where he earned a split decision over Ryan Spann in February.
Giles also previously competed in Legacy FC and Resurrection Fighting Alliance and remains unbeaten in his pro career. Nicknamed “The Problem”, Giles has proven an unsolvable problem for every opponent he’s faced and has finished four of his 10 career wins via knockout and five by submission.
Neto has been on the sidelines since a split decision loss to Clint Hester at UFC Fight Night 44 in June 2014. The 29-year-old Brazilian was on a four-fight winning streak before that including a first-round submission over Anthony Smith in his UFC debut in June 2013.
Neto is a BJJ black belt and two-time World Jiu-Jitsu Champion. He has finished seven of his nine career wins via submission and one by knockout.
