The UFC has added a lightweight matchup featuring Erik Koch and Drew Dober. The bout will be part of UFC 195, which takes Jan. 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Koch appeared to be a top prospect when Zuffa merged the WEC with the UFC. He won his first two UFC bouts over Raphael Assuncao and Jonathan Brookins. However, since then, Koch has gone only 1-3. In 2014, he returned to lightweight and defeated Rafaello Oliveira. In his most recent outing, he fell to Daron Cruickshank via first-round knockout.
After an extensive career on the local circuit, Dober made his UFC debut in 2013. He holds a 1-3 record in the promotion. His lone victory in the UFC came over Jamie Varner at UFC on Fox 13.
In the main event of UFC 195, welterweight champion Robbie Lawler will look to defend his title against former WEC and interim UFC champion Carlos Condit.
