DEEP NAGOYA IMPACT – 07/27/2014: Chase Beebe to Take on Seiji Akao

Two bantamweights, Seiji Akano (left) and Chase Beebe (right), confirmed to collide on July 27th in Nagoya, JapanDEEP signed former WEC champion Chase Beebe and he will take on Seiji Akao in the Nagoya show at the end of July.

Although Beebe is currently on a four-fight losing streak his value in the Japanese market is still very high because of the two following reasons. He is the former WEC champion and, a DREAM veteran. The fans do remember Beebe and WEC is the brand name the promoter can utilize in promoting the show there.

Sure, its been almost four years since Beebe last fought in Japan (vs Hiroyuki Takaya, Sept., 2010) his name re-surfaced in Japan late last year when he was announced to take on the current King of Pancrase at 135 lbs Shintaro Ishiwatari.

Beebe had to scratch this fight due to the injury but now he is getting a second chance in Japan and this is a chance for him to step back into W column.

However his opponent, Akao, is not necessary a walk in the park.

His record is alright, at 17-8-3, but he has faced many top talents in the past such as Alex Soto, Kenji Osawa, and Kyoji Horiguchi. He even took Soto to a draw so he is a solid bantamweight in DEEP's roster.

With his hometown crowd backing him up, Akao must be really pumped up for this fight.
