DEEP 82 – 02/24/2018: Rin Nakai signs with DEEP

UFC veteran Rin Nakai signed with DEEP and will take on Young-Jin Kim from Korea in DEEP 82.

The promotion announced this on Wednesday.

Nakai fought Kanako Murata in RIZIN back in December 2016 so this is going to be her first fight in 14 months.

Her opponent, Kim, made a pro debut against KING Reina in DEEP last year and lost via armbar. Just month after this fight Kim fought Sarah Jane McCann in Shooto and lost in an unanimous decision.

After losing first two pro fights Kim went back to Korea and fought Yoshiko Hirano in Road FC and finally won. Hirano is a known pro-wrestler in Japan and that is probably one of the reasons Kim got a call from DEEP.

Also, obviously, this is a tune-up fight for Nakai to get to RIZIN later this year since DEEP JEWELS is sort of like the women’s minor league of RIZIN. In that sense, Kim is a good choice for this fight.
